(B)  Failure to Advise.  Fewer states agree that failure to advise concerning immigration consequences of a plea, as opposed to affirmative misadvice, constitutes ineffective assistance of counsel.[168]


[168] Williams v. Duffy, 270 Ga. 580, 513 S.E.2d 212 (1999) (counsel’s failure to advise the defendant concerning the collateral immigration consequences is not indispensable to the validity of a guilty plea).
