A safe haven could theoretically include a disposition in a criminal case that triggers deportability yet leaves the noncitizen eligible to apply for some type of relief in immigration court that the immigrant will in fact obtain.  This type of safe haven is not covered in this book.  For discussions of the crime-related requirements of different forms of relief in immigration court, see N. Tooby, J. Rollin, & J. Foster, Crimes of Moral Turpitude, Chapter 3 (2005); N. Tooby, Aggravated Felonies, Chapter 2 (2003); K. Brady, California Criminal Law and Immigration, Chapter 11 (2004).
