This book also does not cover in any detail the important topic of post-conviction relief in criminal court, as a way of eliminating deportable convictions. See N. Tooby, Post-Conviction Relief for Immigrants (2004). It does identify the forms of post-conviction relief that are effective in eliminating a conviction for immigration purposes. See § § 4.20-4.23 (direct appeal to avoid final conviction), 4.24-4.29 (convictions eliminated by post-conviction relief).
